Stories shaping reality

Transcript

Stories become very real and practical in our world around us. Like they become the stories become material. And what things are framed as stories and what things are just framed as like immovable realities is very dependent upon the like prevailing oppressive systems that exist in our world today. Racism or ra even race as a concept is a story that was told, is an idea, is an imagination that becomes real by enough people believing in it and implementing it, and in those stories being told in a way that makes it as if they cannot be like challenged or refuted.

Mikaela Loach explores how stories shape the realities we live in. Systems like capitalism and constructs like race began as ideas, yet are often framed as immovable truths. When dominant narratives go unchallenged, they reinforce inequality and limit what we believe is possible.

Diversifying climate voices means challenging these stories and imagining new ones rooted in justice and collective liberation.
