Samela is an environmental activist, biologist, and Indigenous communicator from the Sateré Mawé people in Brazil. She serves as Communications Coordinator for the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil and as Communications Advisor for National Articulation of Indigenous Women Warriors of Ancestry.

An ANMIGA “Terra Woman,” Samela is a storyteller across multiple platforms, using media to represent and strengthen her community. She is a member of the Association of Indigenous Women Sateré Mawé and works as a presenter at Rádio Nacional dos Povos Indígenas.

Through communication, activism, and science, Samela amplifies Indigenous voices and advocates for environmental justice, cultural identity, and women’s leadership in the Amazon.
