Justice for Bruce's Beach and Where's My Land?

Kavon Ward is an award-winning spoken word artist, activist, and founder of Justice for Bruce’s Beach. She has won 1st place at the Apollo Theater and performed alongside notable figures like Hezekiah Walker, Patti LaBelle, Fantasia, Joe Madison, and Dick Gregory. Kavon’s movement successfully returned stolen land to the descendants of Black landowners, who sold it to LA County for $20 million. She has been recognized by Senator Steven Bradford and featured in publications like the New York Times and The New Yorker. Kavon has advocated for justice and reparations for the Bruce family through interviews with NPR and other media outlets. She collaborates with Patrisse Cullors of Black Lives Matter and leads Where Is My Land, focusing on reclaiming Black land nationwide. Kavon holds a BA in Communications and a Masters of Public Administration.
