Sharing Is Our Power

Transcript

We believe that the government can win these battles, but to get there, we know there are other strategies that must be put in place, if taken seriously. Because the Congolese government cuts the internet every time we launch mobilizations, cutting access so we cannot share anything. So for me, this space is also a simple way to share our content, to share our history, to share our commitment, but also to send out these calls for alarm and ask you to help us spread this information. Whenever you see something, we need you to help relay it, to share these videos and these stories so they can be seen by everyone. For me, the name I give to this work we are doing is resilience. It is this resilience that drives us, that drives me to be here, and that drives you to be here as well.

While digital spaces are essential for climate activism, they are often restricted in moments of resistance. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, internet shutdowns limit communities’ ability to organize, share their stories, and demand justice. Sharing information is an act of resilience that helps amplify marginalized voices, build collective power, and sustain the fight for climate justice.
