Antonique Smith is a Grammy-nominated actor, singer, and songwriter. She is renowned for her leading roles in Broadway productions such as “Notorious” and “RENT.” Smith has also appeared in films like “Abduction” and “Yelling To The Sky,” and gained recognition for her role in Netflix’s “Luke Cage” in 2018. In 2015, her EP “Love Is Everything” garnered attention, and her song ‘Hold Up Wait A Minute (Woo Woo)’ received a Grammy nomination. Smith has also worked as a songwriter for TV shows, including Shots Fired.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Antonique Smith is a dedicated climate justice and human rights activist. She has performed in a 20-city “Act On Climate” tour and sang at the Pope’s climate rally. Her cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy Mercy Me” was chosen as the anthem for the People’s Climate March, and she serves as an ambassador for People’s Climate Music. During New York Climate Week in 2017, she released “Here Comes the Sun.” As a survivor of Superstorm Sandy, Smith actively supports vulnerable communities, raising awareness about climate issues and advocating for solar energy.
